Product Description for Electronic pressure switch TDP DSP
Automatic pump control with Plug & Play: Simply connect and that's it!
Whether for garden irrigation, domestic water supply, water pumping, pumping water from a swimming pool or for cleaning work - the TDP DSP electronic pressure switch from Trotec is the practical and reliable plug & play solution for automatically controlling garden pumps, deep well pumps, centrifugal pumps or water pumps.
For constant water pressure in the pipe system
The compact pressure switch is simply installed between the pump and the connected consumer (e.g. water tap or garden hose) and the water pumping process starts automatically without having to switch the pump on and off manually. The pressure switch ensures a constant water pressure in the connected pipe system for garden irrigation or domestic water supply. The line pressure is permanently monitored by the pressure switch. If the pressure drops, the unit switches on automatically and restores the pressure. If the line pressure is reached again, the pump control switches itself off automatically. This protects the pump and extends its service life. The two inlet and outlet openings on the pressure switch are equipped with 1" external threads and thus fit perfectly to common pump, hose or pipe connections.
Plug & Play - power supply of the pump via the mains socket in the pressure switch
The pump is also powered by the 1,100 W TDP DSP pressure switch. Simply connect the mains plug of your pump to the 230 V mains socket integrated in the pressure switch. If you now connect the mains plug of the pressure switch to your house socket, the water pump is automatically supplied with power and is regulated maintenance-free every time the consumer is opened and closed. No specialist personnel is required to connect the pump to the pressure switch.
With the TDP DSP you can turn your water pump into a domestic waterworks
The TDP DSP is not only the ideal solution for use in the garden - with this automatic pump control you can also upgrade your existing water pump to a domestic waterworks, which then allows you to use e.g. service water for the toilet, washing machine or shower. The pressure switch TDP DSP ensures a constant water pressure in the pipe and protects the connected pump from damage caused by dry running, kickback effects and overheating. The practical pressure switch is designed for a maximum working pressure of 10 bar. The current water pressure in bar can be read on the integrated pressure gauge. The robust plastic housing is protected against water jets and dust from all sides according to protection class IP65. The TDP DSP is suitable for almost all common pump systems without its own pressure switch and is also recommended as the ideal complement to the Trotec TGP series garden pumps and the Trotec TDP series deep well pumps.
Functionality of the pressure switch
For pressure switches, the designations automatic pump control, pressure monitor, pressure regulator, automatic pressure control, pressure control, flow monitor or flow control are also common. However, the mode of operation is always the same. The line pressure and flow rate in the connected system is monitored by the pressure switch. If water is withdrawn at the consumer, the pressure in the line drops and a flow rate is registered. As a result, the pressure switch automatically switches on the connected pump.
When the consumer is turned off, the water pressure in the pipe increases again and the flow stops. As a result, the pump is automatically switched off by the pressure switch. This protects the pump and extends its service life. The pressure switch is designed for a water temperature of up to 60°C and the working pressure in the delivery system may be up to 10 bar.
Reliable dry run protection for a longer service life of the pump
If there is a lack of water in the well, pond or reservoir, the integrated dry-running protection comes into effect and the pressure switch stops the pump automatically. As soon as the pressure in the pipe drops too much and the water flow is less than 1.2 litres per minute, the pressure switch detects the danger of dry running and automatically switches off the pump. The pump is thus protected against damage caused by dry running and unnecessary further running and possible overheating of the pump is prevented. This mechanism also enables the pressure switch to detect if there is a leak in the water pipe. After an LED error message due to dry-running, the pump can be restarted easily by pressing the reset button on the pressure switch control panel.
With backflow stop
The electronic pressure switch TDP DSP is equipped with a check valve. This prevents water from flowing back and protects against pressure surges and pressure shock effects. The backflow-stop mechanism ensures that the pumped water in the pipe system can only flow in one direction.
A closing element is opened by the pressure of the flowing water. When the pump is switched off and the water pressure drops, the remaining water in the hose presses the closing element in the opposite direction, thus closing the passage and preventing further discharge.
Wide range of applications
The electronic pressure switch TDP DSP is especially recommended for the following applications:
- Garden irrigation with hose, sprinkler, micro-drip system or sprinkler
- Allows you to convert your pump into a domestic waterworks for the supply of service water for toilet flushing, washing machines or showers
- Pumping water from a well, pond, river, reservoir or cistern
- Pumping from swimming pool, garden pond or rain barrel
- Cleaning work by high-pressure cleaner or for car washing
No matter what the task - with the TDP DSP electronic pressure switch from Trotec you benefit from reliable and convenient water pressure regulation without having to switch the pump on and off manually every time.
Universally applicable with common water pumps and the following Trotec models:
The TDP DSP electronic pressure switch from Trotec can easily be used for a wide range of commercially available water pumps and delivery systems - either directly on the pump head or via hose connection.
TGP garden pumps from Trotec
If you also want to rely on Trotec brand quality for your garden pump, we recommend our three models TGP 1000 E, TGP 1000 ES or TGP 1005 E. With these Trotec garden pumps, for example, you can simply screw the pressure switch onto the water outlet opening in the pump head and connect the pump power cable directly to the socket in the pressure switch.
TDP-Deep well pumps from Trotec
The pressure switch TDP DSP also works with our two deep well pumps TDP 5500 E and TDP 7500 E. Here, the pressure switch is connected via hose connection behind the pump and the mains plug of the deep well pump control box is connected to the pressure switch mains socket. Alternatively we recommend the pressure switch TDP DS for our deep well pumps.
Pumps with a capacity of up to 2,300 watts can be connected to the pressure switch in single-phase mode. With a three-phase connection, a pump output of up to 4,000 watts is possible.
