The TC100 is a multifunctional diagnostic device for professional climate control and quickly detects the WBGT index, such as in the assessment of heat-stressed workplaces.
For adjusted measurements in indoor and outdoor areas, the direct solar radiation can be calculated by function or can remain ignored. Likewise, an individual WBGT alarm limit can be defined, the exceeding of which is immediately indicated acoustically.
In addition, the TC100 is able to determine practically all relevant parameters for climatic comfort.
Whether air temperature and humidity, radiant heat, wet bulb and dew point temperature or air pressure - all these parameters are available in real time, as a hold, minimum, maximum or average displayable on the backlit display and with a capacity of 99 measured values directly in the TC100 storable.
For long-term measurements, the TC100 can also be mounted on a tripod. In addition, the meter accommodates a mini-USB port as well as a 9-V hollow socket, so that these interfaces can be used as a permanent alternative to the battery insert. In addition, a power bank can be connected to the mini USB port of the TC100 for mobile power as needed.
Standard compliant measurement of the WBGT index
There is an increased risk of heat stress for persons working on equipment or in environments with high energy output or temperature radiation.
For the health protection of these heat-stressed employees, exposure and rest periods adjusted to the degree of exposure are required.
The heat stress intensity is calculated from different climatic factors. The internationally standardized name for this measure of climate dimension is WBGT Index (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature).
This index, which was originally developed by the US military for its training camp, has meanwhile also been defined via DIN EN 27243 and is used, among other things, to create guidelines for work breaks and restrictions on heat-stressed workplaces.
In addition to the WBGT, the TC100 can also be used to determine the heat index - also known as Humidex - which indicates the common influence of air humidity, temperature and radiant heat on the human organism.
As physical activity decreases as the heat increases, the WBGT and Heat Index are also increasingly being used as decision-making aids for competitive athletes or at sporting events.
